Network Settings
Define the Username and Password to use for your Network source and/or destination directory.
This tab is only displayed in Expert mode.
If you use the Network settings in SyncBack take account of the following issues:
1 To use a network for the source destination, you must specify \\Machine Name\ShareName.
2 Your current username and password must be in use before entering your Network details.
3 For Windows 95/98/Me you cannot supply a username or password. Your login details are used by default.
4 For Windows XP Home you may need to supply the Guest password and not enter any username.
5 The username may need to be in the form Domain\Username or MachineName\Username for it to work correctly.
6 Windows networking has many quirks and problems. Please experiment with various settings before seeking help.
If your source and/or destination directory are on a network, and you are using a URL, e. g. \\machine\share\drive\directory, then this page allows you to set the username and password required to connect to the network shares. You can only edit the values if you are using a URL.
Connection details for source directory:
Username: Your network username for the source.
Password: Your network password for the source.
Use this username and password before trying my current username and password: If enabled then SyncBack will try the supplied username and password before using your current username and password. By default SyncBack will use your current username and password before trying the ones supplied.
Do not disconnect from the network after the profile has run: By default SyncBack will disconnect the network connection once the profile run has finished. However, in some situations, e. g. when using Novell, you may not want SyncBack to disconnect.
